"Since they were kind enough to include my data, I really ought take a minute to acknowledge the nice job Eriposte did summarizing a bunch of recent posts about the economic performance of Democrats vs. Republicans.
The funny thing about all this stuff is that while it’s fun, I don’t for a minute think it proves that Democratic presidents manage the economy better than Republicans. The numbers are too close, there are too many other variables, and the methodology is too crude. Still, at the very least I think it makes a convincing case that Republicans don’t manage the economy better than Democrats, and that by itself is a worthwhile and non-intuitive new data point for everyone to keep in mind."
