Oh my goodness, actual text!

I’m taking the opportunity to write a bit, now that we have a working home computer again. We managed to go out and get a nifty iBook, complete with wireless connectivity. Now, of course, setting it up was another matter altogether, but we (okay, I) managed not to lose too much hair over it. I used a company called Gillware to do the salvaging of the pc hard drive, and they managed to save 20 gigs of data. Not bad at all, considering what we could have lost. The thing that prevents me from putting the PC back together is… I can’t find the Windows XP disc anywhere. We moved boxes out of storage back into the garage, and in the various states of affairs that our house has been in, we haven’t located that particular disk yet. So, I can’t format the new hard drive. Frustrating, but it’s nice to have a laptop for Laureen to use (and me to also use while she’s asleep).

Jacob is such a busy child these days. Mother’s Day Out on Tuesday/Thursday (in preparation for next year when he goes to preschool two days a week), BURP (play group) on Wednesday, Swimming lessons on Friday. Little Gym on Monday.

Work is work. I like it. They like me.

I’m trying to think about various metaphors for life. I can’t come up with any at the moment, but I’m certain that people will fill in the blanks…
