On this, the 30th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, I wanted to take a bit of time to examine the points of view and my feelings about abortion. However, I just don’t have that much time to spend. There’s a perspective that I like, although I’m skeptical of any news agency that runs its own polls. The sample sizes are just too small to be accurate reflectors; they’re more like pixels in the “digital snapshot” of America that a better survey would provide.

Kevin,
I guess you through this one out knowing I couldn’t stay out of legal conversation. It bears noting that standards set out in Roe v. Wade for when abortion is legal have eroded over the years. According to the case, abortion is legal up until the point where the unborn child is capable of sustaining life on his/her own. With the advances in medicine this time frame has been greatly reduced. We are slowing down the process unfortunately it is not enough yet.
I think the big issue with that is "on his/her own". I don’t think that "in ICU, with heart monitors and breathing machines strapped to them" qualifies.
There is no easy solution to the issue. Abstinence is a good idea if you can keep kids in a bubble, away from all media except that which you control. Knowing that actions have consequences should be considered a vital part of any education, whether at home or at school.
